Reading Response #4
I have done several scientific writing before. They are far different from the type of writing we did in English classes. Those scientific writing focuses on precision and accuracy. They are usually divided into sections and each sections talks about one thing. This organization helps inform a clear message to the reader. What I required to write in chemistry and biology classes is lab report, which is a type of scientific writing. Whatever I wrote had to be based on facts and objective. I like scientific writing as I don't have to think about my opinion since the content is relatively objective and is mainly based on truth and evidence. Through writing the lab reports, I probably can learn some scientific knowledge and know how to write in a clear and formal way.

Reading Response #3
The reading this week is mainly about reflection and revision. It is something similar to what we are doing now. We are assigned to think about the process of writing and write our own reflections through out the process. At the beginning, I had the same feeling as the author that I thought this reflection process was a bit waste of time. What we wrote is informal and under no requirement. Nothing was learned. However, when we have done several pieces of reflection, I changed my mind. I started to recognize the importance of the reflection and revision process. It helps us to develop an attitude to admit what we got wrong and make changes to what we have done. It is simply a positive attitude required in our life to admit failure and make changes for progression.

Reading Response #2
I totally agree with the myths that Lennie mentioned in the reading book as I did believe in some of those when I was a writing beginner. For example, I believed that there was a particular rule that I could follow for writing. However, when I continuously learned the writing skills from the writing classes, I found that myth was totally wrong. What is true is that writing is a cycle of brainstorming, drafting, editing, and revising. None of these steps can be eliminated. Moreover, I used to believe that a perfect draft had to be prepared for a good writing. Now I know it is totally wrong. We don't need to prepare a perfect draft as we will revise it later anyway. In addition, at the time when I got a poor grade in my writing assignment, I thought it was because I was not a genius in writing. However, through the time I improved my writing and got a better grade, I recognized that everyone can improve and write better as long as you recognized the mistakes of your writing.

Response on Podcast
At the very beginning, I don't really know what a podcast is. I thought it was something similar to a radio channel. When I first listened to it, I found several people talking to each other. A person introduced what a podcast was and how it launched. I started to recognize that podcast is similar to a radio channel in a way that a topic is discussed. What makes it different is that boring topics are going to be discussed in a fascinating way in podcast. And we are going to listen different people's comments on the same topic, which makes us think in different perspectives.
After I have listened to this podcast, I feel interested in it. I will listen more and discover what topics are discussed.
