Reading Response
I totally agree with the myths that Lennie mentioned in the reading book as I did believe in some of those when I was a writing beginner. For example, I believed that there was a particular rule that I could follow for writing. However, when I continuously learned the writing skills from the writing classes, I found that myth was totally wrong. What is true is that writing is a cycle of brainstorming, drafting, editing, and revising. None of these steps can be eliminated. Moreover, I used to believe that a perfect draft had to be prepared for a good writing. Now I know it is totally wrong. We don't need to prepare a perfect draft as we will revise it later anyway. In addition, at the time when I got a poor grade in my writing assignment, I thought it was because I was not a genius in writing. However, through the time I improved my writing and got a better grade, I recognized that everyone can improve and write better as long as you recognized the mistakes of your writing.
