Summary of the Journal

The article, On Developing the Writing Skill Course for Accounting Students, mentions that California State University in Stanislaus has implemented a new writing proficiency course for accounting students due to the lack of accounting-related writing intensive courses. It is intended for enhancing the writing knowledge and skills needed for accounting discipline like professional writing for business decision or legal purposes. It also serves as an alternative for fulfilling the Graduate Writing Assessment Requirement. The implementation of this new course has caused a controversy among students. Some of them appreciates it based on an additional selection of writing intensive course while some depreciates it because it substitutes the time of taking other business writing intensive courses which are essential for accounting students.
